Schools & Groups
The Adventure Farm is a fun filled day out for school and groups!
We are open for School visits all year round. A visit to the National Forest Adventure Farm can be used as a practical and fun way to teach subjects covered under the National Curriculum. We have a range of pre-planned workshops aimed at Key Stage 1 and 2 which are cross curricular, or you can mix and match to suit the needs of your class. There are many ways in which farming and growing can enrich the curriculum. The National Forest Adventure Farm can provide learning opportunities in Geography, History, Drama, Science, RE, ICT, PE, PSHE & Citizenship, Mathematics, English and Art & Design. We suggest a pre-visit from teachers to discuss what they want to achieve from the trip so we can be sure to meet your expectations.
All school visits as standard include a tractor and trailer ride, an opportunity to meet the animals, fun in the play barn and outdoor fun fields, an adventurous activity or fun linked craft exercise, pre and post visit suggested activities.
The cost for each child is £6.50. There is no charge for teachers accompanying the children (at a ratio of 1 teacher to 5 children). SPECIAL OFFER FOR 2012 - come and visit the farm in different seasons and get the second trip at the greatly reduced rate of £5.75 per head. At least one trip must be taken in either the Spring or Autumn term.
Contact Cathy Luffman on 01283 533 933 to obtain a free family pass for one of your teachers to visit the farm during the period from 3rd January to 31st March 2012 and assess it's suitability for a school trip .
